VYH’s Project Silk presents at “Bridging the Gap” Conference

Joelle Pitts, VYH Associate Director, and Kim Kitterer from Valley Youth House’s Project Silk program presented at the Bridging the Gap Conference held at Delaware Valley University. The event came from the ‘Bucks County Now is the Time: Healthy Transition Grant’ and was in partnership with the Bucks County Departments of Behavioral Health.  The event focused on providing a better understanding about how to engage with LGBTQ+ youth and young adults on their journey into adulthood. Those who attended were youth and young adults between 16-25 including family members, professionals from child and adult systems such as case manager, peer supports, as well as anyone interested in supporting youth and young adults. The event was also backed by the Pennsylvania Healthy Transitions Partnership, their role in the provision of support and services is to address serious mental health conditions, co-occurring disorders, and risks for developing serious mental health conditions among youth aged 16-25 years old.
