Valley Youth House holds annual Staff Appreciation Day 2017
On June 9th, Valley Youth House held our annual Staff Appreciation Day at The Fuge in Warminster, PA. The day brought together hundreds of employees from across our 12 counties and was filled with learning, celebration, and fellowship.
The morning comprised of a make your own donut bar, remarks by Tom Harrington, VYH President & CEO, a review of the final results of the 2017 Strategic Planning process to guide VYH into the future, and a performance and discussion called “From Allyship to Action” by Guante, a two-time national slam poet champion.
After a luncheon, including an ice cream sundae bar, the annual Staff Recognition, Anniversary, & Awards Ceremony took place. Staff were recognized for milestone anniversaries working for VYH and dedication and performance in the following categories: “Otherwise Awesome”, Bachelor’s Level Counselors, Administrative Professionals, Master’s Level Therapists, and Supervisors/Coordinators. The major awards of the year were given to Melisa Barbier, Administrative Associate, Easton (Dr. David Gilgoff Leadership Award) and to Shawn Mack, Mentoring Coordinator, Montgomery County (Carol Ferretti Award).
The day ended with tours of the event site, The Fuge, which had previously been a Naval testing laboratory home to the world’s largest and most powerful centrifuge. This aligned with the theme of the Staff Appreciation Day, which was “The Future Is Us: Honoring the Past, Discovering the Future”.
