The Synergy Project Philadelphia: Additional Information

The Synergy Project Philadelphia is a Street Outreach & Emergency Services program at Valley Youth House designed to help youth 24 years-old and younger who have runaway, are experiencing homelessness and/or unstably housed.

Programs and Resources:

  • The Synergy Project: Street Outreach Program
    • What support do we provide?
      • Informal counseling surrounding housing insecurity and connection to a point person with the Synergy Project
      • Provide basic needs and access to resources to reduce the harm of homelessness (i.e. sleeping bags, undergarments, hygiene products, etc.)
      • Connection and referrals to emergency housing, such as shelters and safe havens
      • Connections and referrals through the Youth Designated Access Point and Mobile Housing Assessments
  • Youth Designated Access Point
    • Housing assessments and resources for youth ages 18-24 years old
      • Am I eligible for a housing program?
        • People are eligible for housing programs through the city’s Coordinated Entry Assessment Based Housing Referral System if:
          • You are in a shelter currently
          • You are sleeping in a place not meant for human habitation (i.e. streets, car, abandoned building, etc.)
          • If you are fleeing violence or abuse
        • If you’re unsure if you qualify, reach out to our team at 1-888-468-7315 or 215-925-3180 to discuss further
        • If you’re not eligible, you may be eligible for Homeless Prevention Programs such as:
          • Valley Youth House’s SPARKS Homeless Prevention and Diversion Program (information below)
          • Office of Homeless Services Emergency Assistance Response Unit

    • Do I qualify?
      • Are you 18-24 years old?
      • Are you currently facing eviction or at risk of homelessness?
      • Do you have an income of close to $1,000 per month?
        • Income requirement waived on a case-by-case basis based on availability of funding
    • What does SPARKS provide?
      • Move-In Costs: First Payment, Last Payment, and Security Deposit
      • Back Rent Payments
      • Partial Rental Assistance
      • Case Mangement
