The Pursuit: 50 Years in the Fight for LGBT Rights (Screening)

Join us Tuesday, June 7th for the screening of The Pursuit: 50 Years in the Fight for LGBT Rights by registering here. The event is free but registration is required.

The Pursuit is a reflection on the fight for LGBT rights, more than 50 years since protesters gathered in front of Independence Hall and called for an end to discrimination against homosexuals. Contrasting stories from LGBT experiences past and present, a complex and vibrant picture emerges that demonstrates both how far the community has come and how far there is left to go.

This event will be hosted at the University of Pennsylvania’s LGBT Center @ 3907 Spruce St. Come to see this motivational film highlighting the struggle for LBGT rights as well as a follow-up panel discussion of youth from Valley Youth House programs. We’re so excited to welcome Safiya Washington, Violet Golson, Hazel Edwards, Bella Davenport and Marcus James to the panel to discuss their personal experiences and the larger issue of LGBTQ youth homelessness.
