We envision a world in which every young person belongs to a nurturing community. The Lehigh Valley Host Homes program connects youth (ages 16-22) who are experiencing housing instability with volunteer homes. This program serves youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability located in the Lehigh Valley, PA.
Youth may be living on the street, in shelters, in out-of-home care, or other situations where youth are unstably or temporarily housed. Additionally, the program may serve youth who are couch-surfing (ie: living transiently with extended family or other adults).
• Recruitment and training to individuals/families that will be Host Homes to youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability
• Background checks for Host Home individuals/families, ensuring the safety of the relationships between Host Home providers and formerly homeless youth
• Case management for youth to help them maintain stable housing after the conclusion of services
• 24-hour on-call crisis support for Host Homes individuals/families
