The Lehigh Valley Shelter utilizes an individualized, brief counseling and crisis intervention model within a Positive Youth Development (PYD) framework. Services are provided by a culturally competent and diverse group of counselors and therapists. Services include case management, individual, family and group counseling, life skills education, adventure-based experiential education and recreational activities, and therapeutic follow-up and aftercare services. Nearly 100% of the youth report that they felt safe while living at VYH, staff were supportive and helpful, and there was a genuine investment in the young people served.
