Employees from Olympus Create Garden at Maternity Group Home

A team of employees from Olympus volunteered their time and energy at our Maternity Group Home (MGH) as part of their “Olympus Day of Caring”.  The employees gardened the site’s courtyard, where the children have a playset.  The goal of the project was to create a home-like environment for the young women and their babies during their stay at MGH.  Olympus employees helped weed, garden, and plant a vegetable garden.  The young women will tend to the garden, learning responsibility and healthy lifestyles, while having fresh food to use in their cooking.

Olympus says that they see the tremendous benefits of employee volunteerism, and in order to increase employee engagement, community awareness and interdepartmental teamwork. The “Olympus Day of Caring”, a community outreach program that serves nonprofit organizations in the Lehigh Valley began in 2013.  Olympus designs and delivers medical and surgical solutions, life science imaging systems, industrial measurement and imaging instruments, cameras and audio products.

Thanks, Olympus!
