Camp Fowler Receives Grant from the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation

Valley Youth House (VYH) is excited to announce receipt of a $1,000 grant from the Outdoor Recreation Fund for Youth of the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation to underwrite programming at the agency’s Camp Fowler.  The funds will be used to provide therapeutic and challenge-based recreation to over 20,000 Lehigh Valley youth and families in the coming year.

Located in Orefield, Pennsylvania, Camp Fowler is the best adventure camp in the Lehigh Valley.  Breakthroughs not possible in conventional settings become the foundation for personal achievement. Camp Fowler provides a unique experience for many children and adults who have never experienced the great outdoors, and offers a place to heal, learn, and grow.  VYH staff use the Camp to build competence, confidence, and life skills for Valley Youth House clients through a positive youth development model.

Camp Fowler also provides programming for the public and community-based agencies, such as The Wildlands Conservancy, Autism Resource Community Hub, and the Lehigh Carbon Intermediate Unit. More information on the Outdoor Recreation Fund for Youth and the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation can be found at on their website.
