VYH Family Based Mental Health Receives Grant from IronPigs Charities for Adventure Therapy

We are excited to announce that Valley Youth House has received a $1,000 grant from IronPigs Charities to support families in our Family Based Mental Health (FBMH) program.  The award was granted to us at the Phillies Winter Banquet “Kickoff to Baseball 2016” fundraiser at the Sands Event center in Bethlehem, PA.   This grant will allow FBMH families to have adventure therapy with their counselors at our Camp Fowler.  Camp Fowler is home to many therapeutic, challenge-based recreation and adventure elements, including the IronPigs Hilltop Challenge Course.

FBMH provides in-home counseling and support services to children and their families where the child has a mental health diagnosis. The purpose is to reduce out-of-home placement due to the mental health needs of the child. Family counseling, individual counseling, education on mental illness, and crisis intervention are provided.
