Valley Youth House serves children and families regardless of their ability to pay. Less than 2% of our revenue comes from client fees, with much of our funding from federal, state and local government grants. Unfortunately, these sources of funding are inadequate to meet the needs of all our community’s children and families in need. Generous support from our community allows us to expand our ability to serve local abused, neglected and homeless youth. You can help us offer every child a chance to develop into a happy, healthy, and productive adult:

Project Child Coalition – Project Child is a broad-based coalition whose mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect. Volunteers are needed for help with bulk mailings and other administrative tasks. Project Child also needs volunteers for a variety of planning committees and for several large events, including the Tortoise and Hare 5K Run/Walk.
Be a Mentor. The children we serve are facing today’s difficult world with many more hurdles to overcome than others their age. Volunteering in the Child Mentor Program provides you the opportunity to offer support, role modeling, tutoring, recreational activities, and life skills development on an outreach basis in the child’s home or community. By volunteering your time to build a supportive relationship with a youth, you can help them reach their full potential and thrive in the community. The program is demanding: Training is required and the children need a commitment of four hours a week, but the rewards are immense. Contact Nikki Graaf.
