The Valley Youth House Public Information Center on Drug Prevention was established to provide current information relevant to alcohol and other drugs.  We are here to serve Lehigh and Northampton County educators, corporate/business human resource staff, substance abuse professionals, parents, students, and other members of the public who want to increase their awareness and knowledge about substance abuse.

The Information Center is located at 531 Main Street in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the lower level of the Express Times building.  Here you can find up-to-the-minute information sources to help answer your questions and provide you with a knowledge base about alcohol and other drugs and their effects.  In addition, we provide Internet access on-site so you can search the Web for additional information.  We offer:

  • Treatment Information.  We have information regarding treatment centers in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.

  • Brochures.  We carry a large variety of brochures encompassing many aspects of substance abuse, including:

  • Alcohol & other drugs - pharmacology, diagnoses, societal impact, risk behaviors, education aids

  • Life Skills - preventive mechanisms for coping with abuse issues, conflict resolution, anger management, violence issues

  • Alternatives - options to abusing alcohol/other drugs

  • Parenting - how to drug-proof and instill healthy life styles and life skills in your children

  • Risk - identification of the risk factors involved in becoming alcohol/other drug dependent

  • Gender - impact of sexual differences on alcohol/other drug issues

  • Employment -(creating a drug-free work place

  • Self-help - resources about the 12-step programs

  • The Digest is published monthly (except April and September) with drug and alcohol abuse news from around the country.  (Requires Adobe Reader...if you don't already have Reader installed on your computer, you may download it for free by clicking here.)

  • Prevention & Intervention News is published April and September with news and information regarding parenting, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, and local events of interest to parents and others who are concerned with the safety and well-being of our children.  (Requires Adobe Reader...if you don't already have Reader installed on your computer, you may download it for free by clicking here.)
