Founded in 1973, Valley Youth House provides a first line of defense for troubled young people and their families. Protection from abuse, neglect and family disintegration is achieved through a strategy involving prevention, crisis intervention, and long term help. Our dedicated professionals seek to preserve family life and develop troubled young people into successful adults.
The organization is led by a 32 member Board of Directors. Services are provided by a professional staff, community volunteers, and student interns at schools, family homes, offices and more than 100 residential facilities throughout Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh, Luzerne, Montgomery, Northampton, and Philadelphia Counties. More than ninety percent of the youth and families come from Lehigh and Northampton Counties.
The work of Valley Youth House is supported financially by private gifts, fees, federal, state, and local government grants, and the United Ways of the Greater Lehigh Valley and of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
