Valley Youth House is a non-profit agency which serves children and families regardless of their ability to pay. In fact, only about 2% of our annual budget is realized through client fees. For the remainder, Valley Youth House relies on Federal, state, and local government grants, the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, two major fundraising activities, an annual giving drive, and corporate and individual gifts.

You can help by making a charitable gift of cash, stocks or bonds, real estate, or insurance. These may be given outright or through a planned giving vehicle such as a bequest. The tax and financial benefits of gifts to Valley Youth House depend on your circumstances. We will be happy to furnish you with more information about charitable gifts and discuss with you and your adviser the most advantageous ways to make them. If you wish, you can make a contribution via credit card on line through our secure server. If you prefer to send your contribution by mail, you can complete and print a paper form to send with your check or credit card information. Volunteering

Valley Youth House welcomes community-spirited individuals who may wish to volunteer their time and talents to helping youth and families. Volunteer opportunities exist in the following areas:

Project Child Coalition – The Project Child Coalition is a group of volunteers from all walks of life who focus their efforts on eliminating child abuse and neglect in the Lehigh Valley. Volunteers are needed to man the Parent Line, a 24 hours a day telephone resource which provides help, information, and referral to parents who may be at risk of abusing their child, and the Friendly Caller service, which is provided to parents who have expressed the need for a friendly call on a regular basis. Volunteers for both lines will be trained, and can provide services on a schedule they determine. Runaway & Homeless Youth Shelters – There is always a need at the Shelters for volunteers to assist counselors with group activities and meetings, answer the telephone, transport youth to appointments, do food shopping, etc. If you are interested in serving Valley Youth House - Lehigh Valley, contact Shelter Director Lorrie Reddy at 610-691-1200 or e-mail at: (Shelter Director's Email) . Student Internships (To Top)

The opportunity for student internships exists both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Internships are offered in human services, education, recreation, administration, and public relations. Students completing internships are required to work at least 168 hours per semester. Each student is supervised weekly and a mid-semester and final evaluation are completed.
